I'm not an owner, yet, but looking at a 2007.

I can't quite get past the no exterior door locks thing. I guess I am showing my age, right?

Question: is there a way to open the trunk in a situation where there is no power to the electric release? (I know some Mercedes have/had a hidden release handle under the rear seat for such situations.)

key within the fob, passenger door handle should have removable cover with "hidden key slot" behind so key can slot in .. therefore no need for battery power. Could be Driver's door in the USA..
