Good thing I recently purchased another car for commuter use.
I bought a 2001 Volvo S80 as a backup to the Passat LE, but now I drive the Passat sparingly as it has developed braking & downshifting issues @ only 5000 miles.
Looks like the VW will be backing up the Volvo instead.

Oh man, bad news. Right on the heels of gasoline CO2 and MPG cheating on some European VW cars.

My mom just bought a new CC. Passat and CC are sister cars, so this may affect her CC.

If the CC has the 2.0, then it may be subject to recall.
Appears VW will be issuing recall by serial/VIN.
I'll have to check n see if my Passat is in that number.
Meanwhile, the Passat remains parked while I am enjoying the S80.
