split window bug

When I was a kid cousin had a a bug with a split rear window. When he died, as per his wishes, the car was given to one of his friends. I have often wonder about the rarity of the car. Any comments?

Saw an episode of American Pickers and they acted like the split window version was the holy grail.

These are truly rare, just as the split window van is rare.

The rarity that you really start having an affection for after riding in one is the Syncro bus.
A 4x4 air cooled VW Van, or vanagon. Man I want one of those myself!

The Split Busses arent that rare - I know of 5 within an hour drive of me and another 3 in backyards. These were made from 1950-1967.

Split Window Beetles were made from (end of war) until 1953 and are rarer than hens teeth.
