Highest mileage Golf?

My 1991 Golf (manual transmission) just passed 280,000 miles and has been pretty much problem free. One of the best things I did to it was insulate the hood to reduce the engine noise using foil faced 1 inch insulation. Other than typical things like brakes and exhaust and timing belts, it has been a very reliable car. It still has the original clutch, but my son has been driving the car to/from high school, so I imagine a clutch will be needed by the summer!
