I have had the car since since new and has not done much miles. It developed a slight judder when not under load at 1200 to 1500 rpm most particularly when in 4 th gear at about 28 mph. It ran like a petrol car that was over choked and running rich. It was so bad I had to change down and rev. in 3rd to get a smooth ride.
I am posting a link here, to a post I made to another forum, that helped me fix it, by cutting a vehicle speed input lead ( pin 42) to the engine management system (ECU). I have been running with this lead cut for over a year now and the problem is cured. The real cause of the fault is accumulation of debris in the diesel injection pump and was first diagnosed in the Audi 80 diesel. ( Google 'audi 80 tdi juddering bucking jerking').
Cutting the lead is a much cheaper work-around than pump replacement.
