Change Alltrack Air Filter — How To

According to Volkswagen, the air filter should be changed every six years, regardless of miles. While my Alltrack isn’t quite six years old yet, I’m changing it. Look at the dirt and debris and dust in my video — ugh. No way do I want to let that stuff get into the engine.

Air Filter Replacement Procedure

This is the airbox, which contains the air filter
There are seven torx 25 bolts you need to unfasten, and one connector (green arrow)
Start by unscrewing the torx bolts, but leave them in the airbox lid… they’re “captive” bolts
Pinch the connector on both sides and pull it away from the airbox lid
Pull the airbox cover up and use a bungee cord to keep it pulled up while you…
Get out your Mann C30005 replacement air filter

Get the filter here and it helps this channel. It’s the same Mann filter I’m using in this video, and it’s VW OEM equipment.

Vacuum out the junk in the airbox
Put the replacement air filter in
Do the removal steps in reverse… tighten the torx bolts down, being careful not to overdo it!
Push the connector back on
