Last Pre-VW Lamborghini up for sale

Being bought by Volkswagen was a pretty good deal for Lamborghini. Successful models and higher production standards have been two big benefits that come from the deal. Still, many long for any ties to the days when car companies weren’t so inter-related as they are today.

That leads us to this story about the last Lamborghini. That is, the last one before VW bought the company 16 years ago. This Lamborghini Diablo SV is estimated to be worth at least a couple hundred thousand dollars and it is coming up for sale at the Silverstone Auctions sale taking place at next month’s Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show taking place in the United Kingdom.

The Diablo SV is one of the last V-12 models with rear wheel drive. It was introduced in 1995 and produced in limited numbers. Needless to say this one is very rare.

The car that is coming up for sale is certified to be the last one to roll off the line in December of 1999. The model comes with a right-hand-drive configuration, and it has been driven 32,000 miles since new. Finished in Pearl Red/Orange, with an Alcantara interior appointed with gray and black leather. The car is completely serviced and ready to roll. The auctioneers expected it to comfortably sell for over $200,000. No word on whether it comes with that cool license plate.
