Time for one of these MPG reports, which is by far the most common topic here at Alltrack World. I know, I know, exciting stuff!
32 MPG average — round trip from Denver to Vail
This 2017 Alltrack continues to perform exactly as it has since Day 1. Take a look at this 2020 post… 32 MPG average on a day trip up to the mountains. Well, well, well.
If you look at these data — 32.8 MPG, travel time 6h 20m, average speed 32 MPH — and think hey man hold on a sec… this don’t look like easy wheelin’ highway mileage, you’re correct. It’s a difficult drive, with periods of crawling, and occasional full stops on I-70. (Everybody and their uncle moved here starting in 2012 when we Coloradoans legalized cannabis.) Sometimes it seems the whole city gets up at 5:30 am and drives to the popular ski areas together (but each person in their own SUV).

What ever happened to headlight washers? Cars in the 1990s had them. Which cars? Everything luxury and half of everything else.
Next time I have to climb over the hood with a rag and spray bottle while the car is moving I’m just going to scream. 😱
I think my next big DIY will be brake pads and rotors. At 54k miles they’re done, and this is the OEM set.
