It is a spectacle of what’s coming next, radical accessories, and radical cars. The event draws more than 60,000 buyers each year and that is a number that seems to grow and grow.

A particularly radical Volkswagen was seen at the most recent show and it is truly something to behold. There is no shortage of custom VW buses out there, but we have never seen one quite like this. The custom van is based out of Utah, it carries the name “Surf Seeker”, and the fabricator Ron Berry built it nearly from scratch. Some of the custom finishing work was completed by custom car builder SKJ Customs out of St. George, Utah.

According to reports, there is a tremendous amount of custom work to look at. The all metal body, the interior, the chassis and most of what can be seen was completely fabricated. The only VW parts are the front suspension, rear transaxle, and components of the flat-four engine. The project also took about a year and a half to complete, which shouldn’t surprise anyone.

The design is a tribute to the VW bus, and at the same time, it challenges the very notion of what this popular car can be. The lines are radical and natural at the same time, especially for a ‘shorty’ style of bus. The front end of the car opens up like no bus before it.
